Venue

The Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution (WHOI) is the largest nonprofit oceanographic research institution in the world. It is located approximately 75 miles from Boston, and 65 from Providence, RI. WHOI is spread between two campuses, one in the center of the village of Woods Hole, the other 1.5 miles away.

The workshop will be held on the Quissett Campus of the Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution in the 5th Floor conference room of the Clark Building. The conference venue has a beautiful view of Vineyard Sound and the island of Martha's Vineyard.

Travel

Both Boston and Providence are convenient for flying into the area. Rental cars are available at both airports. Travel by bus to Falmouth and Woods Hole is possible from Boston's Logan Airport. All accommodation in Woods Hole is within walking distance of the bus station. A shuttle is available from Woods Hole Dyers Dock parking lot to the Quissett Campus (see campus map).

Visa Information

The sites http://www.unitedstatesvisas.gov & http://travel.state.gov have information about obtaining a visa for those traveling to the United States. Both sites have links to websites for U.S. embassies and consulates worldwide. The embassy and consulate websites have very helpful information about procedures, timelines, communities served, required documentation, and fees.
